I had severalgood experiences using Apple's trade-in/recycling program to get a discount on new phones; other times -- I sold old MacBooks, iPhones and a Series 1 Watch along with leftover peripherals on Craig's List. A few times I was able to ship some really old and outdated non-Apple gear for Apple to environmentally recycle to keep it out of landfills (they even sent shipping boxes w/prepaid postage. A few weeks ago I tried to get them to send me another postage-paid box to have them dispose of worn out cables and power supplies, (which they originally did) but they refused saying they will only take my recycle gear when I buy something new (reasonable, I guess) so at some point I'll get the iPhone 13 and then ship them some other gear that's cluttering up my shelves and drawers. In a previous life, I had a business that created prototype devices, and we used to buy competitive products for market intelligence which has left me with a drawer full of old Palm Pilots, Kindles and such; not to mention a bunch of internal 3.5" SATA drives and 2.5" portable drives to dispose of responsibly now that storage is going Solid State. Sure would be nice if the wold's most profitable company would keep a program going that accepts old devices from any maker and gave them to 'Daisy' to have her way with.I'd even be willing to pay a modest 'recycling' fee
